Get Involved
The Franklin Regional Football Boosters have several opportunities to volunteer throughout the year, both during and outside of the regular season. Please send volunteer inquiries to FRFBboosters@gmail.com
Please consider signing up for a minimum of three positions per family. We would love to see everyone sign up so that we have a robust booster organization. Specific activities and descriptions are subject to change based on COVID-19 restrictions, weather, and other factors.
Starting in March
- Team Parents ( 1 parent per year, per grade)
Team Parents send out texts/reminders to parents of players in their designated grade.
- Senior Parent
- Junior Parent
- Sophomore Parent
- Freshman Parent
- Program Book (1 chair + 2-3 parent volunteers)
The program book coordinator creates ad request letters for player and business ads, collects artwork/information regarding ads, and works with a printer to layout the book. Solicits new and repeat local businesses for advertising along with collecting player and parent info and monies then takes to the printer for copy and distribution. Co-Chairs/Liaisons to distribute Letters and Proof pages before printing. Responsible for overseeing Picture Day for the Program Book.
May/June
- Picture Day/ Media Day (3 parent volunteers)
Organize athletes/schedules and coordinates with the photographer to collect /distribute photo packets. Help photographer with identification of players and photos for the program book. The role might expand to include an invitation to other area media.
- Combine/Kickoff Picnic (10 parent volunteers)
Volunteers work with the board to order food and Coordinate w/ Cafeteria for the "grill team" to cook up the hot dogs and burgers at the picnic.
Each grade is responsible for bringing a dish to contribute to the buffet/picnic-style dinner served at the school cafeteria.
Volunteers are responsible for setting up while Varsity plays scrimmage or a "skins and shirts" game at the field.
- Graduation water bottle sales (1 parent coordinator, 10 player volunteers)
Purchases/get water bottles donated.
Coordinates player volunteers to sell water bottles at Graduation ceremonies
- Youth Camp (2 parent volunteers)
- Oversees the mini-camp for grades 2-9 one week in June.
- Takes flyers to the elementary schools
- Place AD/News brief in Penn Franklin/Murrysville Star, as well as Eavesdropper/E-News
- Orders T-shirts
- On-site for Monday registrations
- Oversees pizza party at the end of the week
- Takes Group Photo for newspaper/website/social media
- Food Bank – Varsity (1 parent volunteer, multiple player volunteers)
The Food Bank volunteer is responsible for getting PLAYER volunteers on the first Tuesday of every month from July - December. During the school year, the players must have a permission slip to leave school from 11:45-1:15 to help unload the truck at Mother of Sorrows Church.
This helps toward student community service requirements.
- Car Washes (5 per summer, 2-3 parents needed at each)
- Coordinates volunteers/supplies and oversee the players at Advance Auto for the time allotted (usually Saturdays 10-1pm)
- Team parents + 2-3 each grade to chaperone. Donate water/donuts. Pizza is provided out of monies collected.
July/August
- Team Practice Clothing (2 parent volunteers)
Assists with the distribution of practice clothing the team is issued in July that includes shorts and 2 shirts.
- Spirit Clothing Sales (1 parent volunteer)
Handles "family" and fan spirit clothing - presents samples at meetings, creates/collects order forms (if paper-based), and helps organize and deliver orders. Consider a business with online ordering so we can offer to the community through Facebook/website.
- Blazers/Warm-Ups (2-3 parent volunteers)
- Volunteer contacts Dry Cleaners/Storage to get blazers.
- Volunteers spend the day organizing and fitting the team in their blazers that they are issued for the season to wear on game days. Responsible for inventory and any replacements/orders needed.
- Team Parents or volunteers from each grade can help assist.
- Stadium Jackets/Player Only Sweats (1-2 parent volunteers)
Handles the sales for the Parent stadium jackets and the sweats/hoodies for the VARSITY/JV Players only - that is different from the SPIRIT clothes. Can coordinate with Spirit clothing volunteer.
- Camp Meals (1 chair, multiple volunteers per day – day and evening shifts available)
- Schedules volunteers and works with Coach/Cafeteria to create menus for buffet-style meals during football camp in August.
- Need 3-4 volunteers per day for the 1-2 week camp.
Season/Game Days
- Friday pre-Game Meals (Away games only, 1 chair, 3-4 volunteers per game, 5 away games)
- Schedules volunteers and works with Coach to create menus for buffet-style meals for Fridays before away game departure. Coordinates with cafeteria, local businesses, or parents to provide meals (TBD).
- Need 3-4 volunteers per day for the 1-2 week camp.
- Hoagie Parents (2 parents per team)
- Responsible for picking up booster-provided hoagies and drinks from the supplier and transport to away games for Varsity on Friday nights, JV teams on Saturday mornings. Hand out hoagies/drinks to players after designated away games.
- You get "VIP parking" by the buses!
- Varsity Hoagie Parents:

- Concession Stand Rep (1 chair)
- Works with other reps from soccer, band & cheer on scheduling volunteers to work the concession stand during home football & soccer games.
- Will send out reminder calls or emails to those signed up to volunteer.
- Helps out when needed for stocking purposes.
Coordinate pre-home game snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, and an area for parents to socialize before games.
- 50/50 Program Sales (at Varsity Home games, 1 chair, multiple volunteers)
- Set up canopies at entrances & oversees volunteers on home game nights to man the tables at both gates to sell 50/50 and program books, and sell 50/50 in-crowd as well.
- Collect and turn in sales at halftime for the 50/50 drawing.
- ALL home game volunteers get in for FREE to the games that night!!
- Banner Patrol (2 parents)
- 2-3 parents to hang all of the banners of our sponsors on the fence around the stadium before every home game and take them down afterward.
- All home game volunteers get in for FREE to the games that night!!
- Highlight Video/Game Films (1 parent)
This job entails helping our videographer, TBD, in reviewing 2 sets of game films and keeping track of players and big plays, coach's speeches, players on the sideline and fans in the stands, etc. for the highlight video that is produced for the players and presented at the banquet at the end of the season. Duties can be shared with another volunteer.
- Senior Night (1 chair, 4-5 parents)
- Coordinate Senior Recognition Night
- Reserve Cafeteria for Pregame reception. Order hors d'oeuvres/food & drinks to serve to senior parents.
- Get Signs/Pictures made and hung up, order balloon arch, make up treats/gift bags for Senior players/parents.
- Homecoming Bonfire Booth (4 parent volunteers)
- Coordinates our booth at the Homecoming Bonfire to sell food or another item.
- Usually need 4 Volunteers
End of Season through November/December
- Senior Scholarships
- Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior Parent
- Distribute Senior Scholarship applications to the Senior players, collect them and distribute to local business/community people to vote on 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winning essays.
- Winners to be awarded at the Varsity Banquet.
- Senior High Banquet (1-2 chairs, 4-5 volunteers)
- 1-2 Chairpersons to oversee the event.
- Parents of each grade to help plan and coordinate the end-of-season banquet to be held in January. Underclassmen who have served on the committee will be prepared to step into the chairperson slot.
- Sideline/Event Photographers (2 parent volunteers)
Take action shots of the games and send links to players, families, and fans. Photos are used in player gifts, on websites, and on social media (as soon as the Monday after the game).
Middle School Volunteer Opportunities
- Middle School Banquet (3 parent volunteers)
- Plans evening to include dinner for players and parents, a hi-lite video /slideshow presentation and gifts for all MS players.
- Reserve location and equipment for slideshow
- Hoagie Parents (1 parent volunteer/away game
- Responsible for picking up booster-provided hoagies and drinks from the supplier and transport to away games for Varsity on Friday nights, JV teams on Saturday mornings, or away Middle School games (during weeknights). Hand out hoagies/drinks to players after designated away games.
